This is an annual fundraising and fellowship event for Hope Lutheran Youth and Angels of Hope. A silent auction is presented online with donations to benefit Hope Youth and Angels of Hope. The auction concludes with an in-person event where winning bidders can pick up their items and enjoy chili and baked goods. The Youth help to prepare chili and soup that can be eaten in person or ordered for carry out. The Women of Hope feature an ever-popular bake sale. Entertainment is often featured as well during the fellowship time of the ABC Festival.
This ministry involves a group of volunteers that prepare communion and altar cloth for the worship services. A rotating schedule of volunteers is utilized.
A Monday through Friday Preschool program that provides an early education for 3–5-year-old students in our congregation and surrounding community. If you would like to support the Angels of Hope Preschool and Ministry, here are a few volunteer opportunities:
- Help prepare items for classroom use
- Offer a specific talent or skill for use in the classroom
- Serve on the preschool board
- Help at a fundraiser
- Help serve for Christmas program or Graduation fellowship
Opportunities to dive into the Bible with discussions. Some ongoing opportunities include:
- Sundays at 9:30am (September through May) – open to all adults
- Sundays at 9:30am (September through May) – Gathering of Parents and infants/toddlers who aren’t quite old enough for Sunday School
- Tuesdays at 7:30am (year-round) – Men’s Bible Study at Oak Street Café
- Tuesdays at 9:30am and 7:30pm (September through May) – Women’s Bible Study

The church council is the governing board of the church. Opportunities to serve in these volunteer roles include Chairman, Vice Chairman, Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Elders who help Pastor with the spiritual welfare of the congregation, Trustees who are the custodians of the property, President of Angels of Hope Preschool Board and Chairpersons of Ministries to include Education Ministry, Youth and Family Ministry, Community Engagement Ministry, Stewardship and Safety and Security Ministry. Most positions on the church council are chosen by lot and they meet monthly.
Sunday morning coffee hour is from 9:15- 10:15 AM. If you or your ministry would like to make the coffee and provide treats, a weekly sign-up is available. A free will offering can be collected and funds go towards that ministry of Hope.
This ministry organizes events to engage with Hope’s Family and the Community. We hope to be Jesus’ hands and feet as we serve in our community. Some of the events sponsored in the past include Foxview Random Acts of Kindness Gifts, helping with a local group called Laundry Love, providing a meal for veterans, Serving meals at homeless shelters, Trunk or Treat, new member welcome, and others. You can be a part of the organizing team or participate in events that are publicized. Parish Nurses are part of this ministry.
This store is located in West De Pere and was formed in 1990 when eight churches got together to create a combined mission to help community members in need. Hope is one of the contributing churches. Hope looks for volunteers to work and serve at the Christian Outreach Store. You can also make an impact by donating items or shopping at the outreach store. De Pere Christian Outreach has generated greater profits each year, providing ever-increasing donations to humanitarian efforts, including:
- Emergency rent, gas, and/or utility assistance to individuals needing short-term assistance for individuals who live within the 54115-area code.
- Monetary donations to strengthen and support charitable organizations in Brown County
- Access items from the store also help individuals/families in need as well as other non-profit organizations.
Hope also has volunteers that collect items and volunteer for a Christmas Store that is set up by De Pere Christian Outreach to bring an opportunity for families in need to shop for Christmas.
The Food Pantry is an emergency food assistance program. Reaching out specifically to De Pere residents. The mission of the De Pere Christian Outreach Food Pantry is in keeping with the Bible’s command to feed the hungry and serve others. Hope has a collection bin for donated non-perishable food items in the coat room. We highlight the food collection on the last Wednesday and Sunday of the month.
The Christmas Store allows families in need from De Pere to provide Christmas gifts for each other through the generous year-round donations from members of the community. The Hope family blesses this effort by donating new items for the store based on monthly collection themes and by providing volunteers to help organize and staff the Christmas Store at First United Presbyterian Church.
Education Ministry is the umbrella over all of the education programs at Hope Lutheran whether it is Bible Studies, Sunday School, or Vacation Bible School. They work alongside the Director of Christian Education and Pastor to facilitate and support all of the educational programs at Hope.
A group of men who serve alongside pastor to oversee and support the weekly worship life and overall spiritual welfare of the congregation. This group is chosen by lot and meets monthly to pray for the congregation, study God’s Word, and plan for the spiritual care of the Hope family.
The mission of this ministry is to connect families to Christ and the church and equip parents to lay the foundations of faith. Volunteers are trained as Foundation Mentors who reach out to parents of newly baptized children and share newsletters and small gifts to help them in sharing faith with their children.
This group seeks to provide opportunities for men to grow in their walk with God, their wives and families, and with one another as they carry out the callings God has given them. Opportunities to get involved include retreats, fellowship events, and service events.
All moms are welcome to gather at the parsonage for growth in God’s Word, fellowship, and encouragement. Gatherings typically happen on the first Monday of the month – check the church calendar for upcoming gatherings.

This committee seeks to help the church to provide a safe, secure environment for membership, Angels of Hope students and families, guests, and staff as we come together on a daily and weekly basis. They help to develop protocols and procedures to enhance the safety of those who come to Hope, and they work with individuals and companies who provide safety-enhancing services to our ministry.
Each of Hope’s worship services need to have the sound projected and a slide show presented for the flow of the service. Volunteers are needed to advance the slides and help make sure the sound system is up and running. Training is provided for interested volunteers.
Stephen Ministers are members of the congregation who have received special training to provide care and a listening ear for individuals going through a difficult time. Contact Pastor Baye if you would like to talk with a Stephen Minister or if you would like to learn more about becoming a Stephen Minister.
Sunday School is offered from 9:15- 10:15 for students aged 3 to high school from September to May. Bible study is also held at this time for adults and parents of children under 3-year-old. Hope’s Director of Christian Education oversees the staff of volunteer Sunday School teachers.
A group of volunteers that work together to oversee the care of the physical property of Hope. This includes insurance, building, and overseeing cleaning staff of the church. Trustees are volunteers that are chosen by lots to serve the Hope congregation.
Each worship service at Hope has a group of volunteers that serve as ushers to help to greet church attendees, hand out bulletins, light candles and help to facilitate communion line up. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for a worship service to serve. Training is provided for any interested volunteer.
VBS is a summer tradition at Hope Lutheran. It is a week of energetic sharing of God’s word with bible stories, songs, games, and crafts. It is typically held one week at the end of July or early August for ages 3-year-old to 5th grade. There are opportunities to volunteer to help with decorations, projects, or help leading areas or groups of children during VBS week.
This group seeks to provide opportunities for women to grow in their walk with God, and with one another as they carry out the callings God has given them. Opportunities to get involved include retreats, fellowship events, service events, and their famous Hope bake sales.
Hope’s Director of Christian Education creates programs for Junior High and Senior High Youth to help build their faith. This would include devotion, activities, and service events. The Youth Ministry often attend events at Camp Luther, a Wisconsin camp that provides outdoor and Christian opportunities for youth and families. Check out their website here: Camp Luther

The Youth Ministry Board is a group of parent volunteers that help to support the Youth Ministry Programs at Hope Lutheran.
